Atlanta Kitchen Designers
"We’re here because we want to be..."
We’ve had years of fulfilling experience in design related fields. And we’ve always gravitated toward
interesting and challenging projects. Now those years of experience have led us to something we’re passionate
about.

Gary Tilson – Architect
Gary is the founder of American Classic Designs. He has 25+ years experience in the building industry; as an
Architect, designing homes and churches throughout the Southeast... as a Planner, leading teams in Masterplan
solutions and New Urban Development... as a Consultant, developing long range plans for instutional clients and
serving on Codes & Standards committees nationwide.
"I've worked in so many styles; restoring and renovating period church buildings –
designing contemporary wood and glass mountain homes – rehabilitating urban structures into modern living lofts. Do
I prefer working in a particular style? Not really. It's all about proper proportions, good materials, fine
finishes – the creativity and success of the design solution. Meeting a client's clearly defined functional needs –
now that's good design."
George Taylor – Interior Designer
In the 30+ years that George has practiced Interior Design, he's completed both Commercial and Residential
projects nationwide, ranging from traditional and period styles through today's most contemporary settings. For
many of those years, he focused on Retail Store Design – creating stores and cabinetry that demanded functionality
while staying at the cutting edge of style. The concept of "beauty supported by utility" has long been a principle
that fuels his design. That balance of critical functionality and compelling aesthetics now serves as the guidepost
for all his creative work as a Principal with American Classic Designs.
"The SPACES we live in
are a creation of HOW we use them – but it's different for everyone. If one's spaces aren't balanced properly for
that individual, any Style begins to break down. For a Designer to create magic, it's critical to know and
understand his Clients thoroughly and to design something which responds specifically to what works best in their
lives."
